Symbiosis 75 features the work of Rotterdam newcomer, Halp, who had his debut release put out by Seclusiasis late last year. With a jump-up sound typical of their artists I just knew that I had to get him on Symbiosis for a mix and chat.

Seth Horvitz returns to Symbiosis as Sutekh and delivers a brilliant mix focused on the dancefloor. Blurring the lines between techno and the new bass styles like dubstep it takes in Madlib, Matthew Herbert, Plastikman, The Bug, LV & Untold, Ramadanman, and Mark Fell plus many more. Check out the interview and enjoy the mix!

This Friday sees the uniting of two of Melbourne’s newer parties, Espionage and Racket, at Monsta. Both, in their own way, seem to have seized upon a critical moment; Espionage have found success with the many forms of bass heavy music and Racket have explored Melbourne’s wonderful experimental tradition with their monthly Thursday nights at Miss Libertine. But both crews are about much more than that. At their heart is a quest to keep moving things forward and a thirst to find new sounds.
It’s a search that Jim Moynihan, who is performing under his Spoonbill pseudonym at Monsta, understands. The Melbourne-based member of the Omelette Records collective (and main curator of their releases right now) has been releasing as Spoonbill since 2005.

With two hit singles already this year – the mega club hit Pass Out and Frisky – and his new single Written In The Stars, it’s clear that Tinie Tempah’s own star is on the rise. He chats to Symbiosis prior to his 2010 Australian tour.

Krystal Klear is in the mix for Symbiosis 72. The mysterious producer who is making the best Boogie, New Jack Swing, Instru Hip-Hop and House this side of the Atlantic. His debut EP drops on All City at the beginning October and the much talked about single ‘Greensilver’ hit’s the world this September on Cooly G’s Dub Organizer label. Receiving love and support from Benji B, Hudson Mohawke, Lazersword, Mary Anne Hobbs, Cooly G and Floating Points.
